What data we collect

When you fill in the "Check availability" form, we collect the data you enter voluntarily: name, email, desired stay period and any message. This data is sent to us by email and is used exclusively to reply to you and manage your availability or booking request.

We do not store this data in a website database: it remains in our mailbox for the time needed to handle the request and any resulting stay, and is processed according to our normal correspondence retention practices.

Legal basis and purpose

Processing is based on Art. 6.1.b of the GDPR (pre-contractual measures requested by the data subject): responding to the information and availability requests you send us voluntarily. We do not use your data for marketing purposes nor do we share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

Third-party services

• EmailOur mailbox is hosted on Google infrastructure. Emails you send us therefore also pass through Google's servers, according to their privacy policy.
• WhatsAppIf you contact us via the WhatsApp button, the conversation happens directly in the WhatsApp app and falls under WhatsApp/Meta's privacy policy, not this website's.
• Google MapsAs described in the Cookies section below, on the Contact page you can activate an embedded Google Maps map: if you do, Google may set its own cookies according to its privacy policy.

Cookies

This site uses a minimal number of cookies, all either necessary or activated only by your explicit choice:

• saxa_consent — technical, necessaryRemembers your cookie choice (accepted or rejected), so it isn't asked again on every visit. Duration: 180 days.
• Google Maps — only if you acceptOn the Contact page we show an embedded Google Maps map to indicate Saxa Mater's location. It is only loaded after you accept cookies: until then the map is inactive and no Google cookie is set. If you decline, you can still reach the location via the direct link to Google Maps.

Your rights

Under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR you may at any time request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, or data portability, by writing to saxamater@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) if you believe the processing violates applicable law.
